I am 46 years old and I live alone in my own house with 24 hour 1:1 support.
My primary needs are Learning Disability and Mental Health needs. I sometimes experience anxiety, distress and paranoia and I can become overwhelmed by change. I require consistent support to maintain emotional wellbeing, safety and daily living skills.
My staff would ideally have experience in working with Behaviours that Challenge, they will need to complete Positive Behaviour Support training, along with Mental Health Awareness training, so you will already have experience as a Support Worker.
I have a very good sense of humour and enjoy the odd practical jokes with staff; I also have an excellent memory.
I love to sit a reminisce about the past. I have a passion for electronics and stereos and want to learn all about them and give you interesting facts.
Music is important to me, especially Christmas music! I like various TV programmes such as cooking shows or Mrs Browns Boys.
I am proud of being able to continue to live on my own with support, It is a goal of mine to continue to live this way.
My mum is very important to me; I enjoy spending time with my family and have good family bonds and connections, they provide me with lots of emotional support and consistency, I would like to maintain these relationships
