Tauseef's story
For over five years, Tauseef has called a Community Integrated Care supported living service in Stockport his home. But what began as day-to-day support has grown into a journey of confidence and purpose that has taken him from his front door to the floors of Parliament and established him as a leading voice for inclusion and disability rights.
Supported to empowered
Tauseef's journey began as an Inclusive Volunteer - and it opened doors he never expected. The programme gives people with support needs, including those with learning disabilities and autism, the opportunity to grow in confidence and gain new skills, through Volunteering at high-profile national events. This is where Tauseef found his purpose.
What started with welcoming people through the doors at sporting events, quickly grew into something far bigger. He has created artwork for major campaigns, contributed to initiatives shaping a more inclusive society, and even had the privilege of speaking at Parliament - experiences he once could never have imagined.
Through Community Integrated Care, he has been able to turn his passion into action, offering lived experience insights, and helping to strengthen inclusion on a national scale.
A social care expert in all areas
That journey ultimately led Tauseef to apply for a paid role within the charity as a Quality Advisor. Quality Advisors are people supported by Community Integrated Care who are trained and employed as experts by experience. In this role, Tauseef offers the charity valuable insights into their services - helping to ensure that Community Integrated Care is always delivering the very best care.
When the opportunity was shared with him by his Service Leader, Sharon, Tauseef was immediately interested. With the support of his support worker, he completed the online application - and got the job.
"Sharon told me about the role and I really wanted to do it. My support worker helped me with the application, and it was easy to complete."
Since joining the team, Tauseef has thrown himself into the role with real enthusiasm - featuring in promotional videos and collaborating with fellow Quality Advisors from across the charity.
"I really enjoy my role. I've been in promotional videos and had meetings with the other Quality Advisors. I love being part of the team and I can’t wait to see what comes next”.
