Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

We are now recruiting for support workers (36 hours per week) to join our team in Winlaton, close to Blaydon- 
1 x Night Shift
1 x Day Shift- driver essential
 
At this service we provide personalised support to 2 individuals who both have a physical disability, but this doesn't stop them from doing anything they put their minds to!
 
We require our colleagues to be trained in all mandatory and moving and handling, as well as PEG

We support people to access community facilities and person-centred activities and involve and develop together to do things better. They enjoy activities such as movie nights, music, wheelchair dancing, garden parties and support at college and day centre.

We have 2-1 support during the day so will have 4 staff working from 9am till 9pm. And on night shift we have 1 staff with us all night on a walking night shift from 9pm till 9am.

This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
For this role, successful applicants should have experience in challenging behaviours. Good communications skills are needed as people supported do not communicate using words.
