Who will you be supporting?
We have all lived together for a long time in within this service. Our support team are important to us because we need assistance to live our best lives possible. 2 of us need assistance to get around the house as we use wheelchairs due to physical disability. 1 of us is independently mobile but needs support in other areas due to his learning disability. There are 4 of us living together and we are all male. 2 of us are prone to seizures and we need staff to be trained in administering rescue medication in the event of a seizure.
What is important to us?
We enjoy pub lunches in the local community, attending day service and meeting up with friends. We also love Lego. We like going out together on trips as we have known each other a long time and enjoy each others community. A mixture of male and female support works well for us and good listening skills are essential. Routine is important to us and we like things a certain way so its vital that support team get to know this. We all have our own cars so we would like support staff that can drive.
What is it like we we live?
