Are you a fun and kind individual who loves going the extra mile to improve the lives of others?
Is it important for you to have a satisfying job where you feel supported?
If this sounds like you, maybe a Support Worker role with an award-winning charity is the change you’ve been looking for!
We are recruiting for a Female Support Worker to support one lady and two gentlemen who share their house in Alloa.
The role is 37.5 hours/week and you will be joining our team, who provide support to individuals living in their own homes. We provide support 24 hours a day, so are looking for flexibility to work a variety of shifts from Monday-Sunday, including some sleepovers and waking nights. Our shifts generally go from 10am - 10am the next day (sleepover included)
The people we support have faced a lot of challenges in the past because of their learning disabilities, visual impairment and mental health issues, but this hasn’t stopped them from enjoying life! They enjoy lots of activities together, including cycling, spending time in their community, accessing religious groups, going line dancing, pub quizzing and curling. Individually, the people we support enjoy writing, listening to music, watching movies and chatting.
The people we support are very motivated and would like to plan a holiday for this year. They’re always up for trying new things too, so are looking for inventive and supportive people who are up for the challenge.
Our support team are experienced and work well together to ensure the people we support are happy and safe in their own homes. This can include:
• Supporting with taking medication
• Cooking
• Assisting with personal care
• Maintaining the homes of the people supported and managing their finances
Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010
