Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enriching the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.

Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.

We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over 100 national and regional awards!

We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

We have a new and an exciting opportunity for a compassionate, self-motivated, professional, and inspiring person to join our team in Clackmannanshire, where we recently received excellent care inspectorate results.

The Service Leader will have oversight of 2 services where we support 12 individuals with complex care and support needs, including learning disabilities, Autism and/or mental health concerns.

You will be based in the larger service in Alva, where we support 8 individuals.  In this role, you will lead, support and mentor a Service Leader Level 1 based at second service in Dollar.  The Service Leader will coach, mentor, develop and guide teams of frontline support colleagues, including Advanced Support Workers and Support Workers, to provide high quality care and support.

Our ambition is to assist people supported to achieve the “Best Life Possible”. For this to happen it is important that the people we support’s voice is at the forefront of their support. Previous experience of managing services and teams within a social care setting is essential.

You will be required to build excellent working relationships with key partners, including people supported, their loved ones, key professional colleagues from within the Health and Social Work Team and internal departments.

Both services have a diverse group of people who require support which needs to be tailored to meet their needs. This requires the Service Leader to be resilient, consistent and understanding in their approach and be able to problem solve using the least restrictive approach.

Most of the people we support are young adults and want to experience life to the full, so they require their support staff to keep them safe but to be comfortable with positive risk taking.  The people we support all have their own homes but have now managed to build their own friendships within the service and are an active part of their communities. Support to navigate life events and relationships is essential for the people we support to thrive in their environment, as a service leader you will play a vital role in how they are supported by front line colleagues.

The service will be centred on a Personalised Care, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Active Support Model. Of strong interest to us will be candidates who have a proven commitment to these values-driven support approaches, as would a PBS qualification or active knowledge in these areas. We will welcome candidates with a learning disability nursing and managerial background.

You may be required to work flexibly; this may include the development of other services in nearby locations. You may also be required to support other services and Service Leaders at times. You will work closely with your Regional Manager, who has a vast amount of knowledge of their region and will support you within your role.

Of key interest to us will be your ability to effectively communicate, assess need, understand positive risk taking and to create dynamic plans. You will be able to audit and manage quality assurance systems as well as to understand the principles of strong resource management.  Our service leaders hold strong accountability within their services and will report directly to the Regional Manager, who will provide you with guidance and support to achieve the positive day to day running of the services.

The successful candidate will be required to register with the SSSC if they are not already registered or hold an appropriate registration.  They will also be required to have or undertake an SVQ 4 or equivalent qualification to meet the conditions of their registration.

Community Integrated Care operates a centralised on-call system so there are no on-call duties required within this role.

This post is a permanent role for 37.5 hours per week working from Monday to Friday.

Your values:

This is a great opportunity to make a genuine difference, where you will be responsible for leading an engaged and motivated team to change lives and deliver person-centred outcomes for every person we support. You will also take the lead by driving performance, setting the pace and direction within services, promoting a positive and passionate culture, and ensuring that services are appropriately and effectively resourced to change lives for the better.

Naturally it is important too that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. People's values are important to use, so we look for people with:
