Community Integrated Care is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Regional PBS Practitioner to join our PBS team covering our North East region on a Permanent 37.5 hour contract. 
 
The PBS Specialist Practitioner will be the Regional Lead in the delivery of high Quality Positive Behavioural Support, and be key to monitoring Increase of Quality of life for the people supported.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

As a PBS Specialist PractitionerYou will work directly with support teams and the main areas of the role will be:
  • Functional Behaviour Assessments
  • PBS support planning
  • PBS implementation via a variety of method including workshops
  • Incident analysis and debrief

A pro-active, compassionate and motivated professional, you will demonstrate exceptional experience and knowledge of supporting people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours and be committed to securing the best outcomes for them.

• Shaping Positive Behavioral Support in services through coaching and mentoring • Reinforcing the importance and implementations of Behavior Support Plans • Integrating other evidence-based interventions and approaches to meet the individual’s needs • Liaising with other clinical specialists • Undertaking functional assessments • Working alongside teams to develop and evaluate intervention plans • Providing advice and guidance to managers, advanced support workers, support workers and families. • Keeping up-to-date with best practice through literature reviews, attendance at conferences and relevant forums • Leading on the development and implementation of restrictive intervention reduction plans • Identifying instances where more extensive PBS training would be beneficial • Working with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high standards of practice • To provide bespoke PBS and Active support training to service.

Skills and Experience:

  • You’ll be educated to level 5 qualification (or above) relating to PBS and always willing to learning and increase your knowledge and skill set
  • You’ll will have previous experience of carrying out behavioural assessments with a Positive Support Assessment.
  • You are passionate about the people we support and our colleague’s wellbeing and have the experience of reducing restrictive practices  
  • You are brilliant at communicating - you find it easy to explain things in a way that is easy for others to understand
  • Regional travel required
