Are you a positive and motivated person who is experienced in supporting individuals within their own homes?
Are you looking to gain great experience in a satisfying job where you feel supported?
If this sounds like you, maybe a Support Worker role with an award-winning charity is the change you’ve been looking for!
At Moredun, we support 7 individuals who live in their own homes in the Gilmerton area of Edinburgh and are recruiting for one of our core teams in the service.
In this team, you’ll support 6 gentlemen with mental health concerns, autism and physical disabilities to live independently in their own homes. The men we support enjoy a wide range of activities, including socialising, watching movies, shopping, cooking, sports, music and travelling. However, they’re always up for trying new things, so are looking for inventive people who are up for the challenge.
Experience of Positive Behaviour Support would be beneficial in this team, but if you’ve not got this, we’ll provide the training you need to ensure you’re successful in your role. We are currently recruiting for a 37.5 hour post on a permanent contract.
In both teams, you can expect to support individuals with:
• Medication administration
• Cooking and home maintenance
• Social support and support to achieve personal goals
• Finance management
Our teams provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so we ask for flexibility to work a variety of shifts including days and sleepovers, which will include some weekends.
Our shift patterns can vary but are generally:
- 8am - 10pm
- 9am - 7pm
- 8am - 2.30pm
- 2.30pm - 10pm
- 10pm - 8am (Sleepover)
