Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:
Who will you be supporting?
 
  • We are 3 female adults & We all have some learning difficulties.
  • Ladies who support us do need to be passionate about supporting us to experience our best lives possible. We require our staff to have all of the mandatory training i.e first aid, safe guarding etc and we also require staff to have epilepsy training and diabetes training
  • This is maternity cover and will be a fixed term contract ending in October 2025 
 

What is important to us? 
 
  • What are we proud of? We are all proud of our independence and that we can get out in our local community. We are all proud of how we all look after each other every day
  • What activities do we to do? We like to experience new things and we like our support staff to encourage us to try new things.
  • What are our interests? Rugby, gardening, films, bowling, cooking, discos. We between us all have many interests and we do like to explore new interests. We all like to go on holiday
  • What are our aspirations? Our aspiration is to experience as many things as we can
  • How do we like to explore our local communities? We do walk outside in our local community. We will use taxis and one of the ladies does have her own car to use
  • How do we describe ourselves? We are all close and we do like to do a lot of stuff together. However in recent times we have begun to create new experiences just for each one of us. We are now finding our interest and support staff will need to encourage this to enable us to live the best live that we are able to do so.
  • What types of people would we get along with and not get along so well with? We like people who are easy going, adventurous, thinks outside of the box. Similar interest as ourselves and the someone who will encourage us to try new things. We like if someone has an interest in cooking as we do like to cook. We like someone to be organized and methodical as we are far from this at times. We like someone who understands that we do become anxious and that we do require reassurance from time to time especially when there is change.
 
 
Other important information?
 
  • How many colleagues are on shift at any one time? We have two/three support worker each day and if we having some one to one time we definitely have three support workers
  • What shifts do you work on? 08.00am/22.00pm sleep and then finish at 11.00am the following day x 1 staff member. 08.00am to 18.00pm x 2 staff members however these times can be flexible
  • What do we need from you? We like support to have effective communication skills as we do love to chat. Support staff need to be clear and direct in what your asking or telling us. Support with personal care and our appearance which is very important to us. Support staff who have patience as sometimes we are not able to express what we are saying in a manner that is clear to you. We are happy to repeat ourselves till you understand what we are saying
