We are looking for an exceptional leader to join our Senior Quality Leadership Team as Head of Health, Safety & Risk. This is a unique opportunity to influence organisational strategy, embed a culture of safety and transparency, and drive continuous improvement across all services. Your work will ensure we deliver on our vision of providing the Best Lives Bolder for the people we support and our colleagues.
 
This is a full time permanent role with some national travel expected and a need to attend our head office in Widnes as and when required so the ideal candidate will live within an hours commute of our head office in Widnes.

You can work from home, or from our head office in Widnes, or a flex between the two. There will be a requirement to travel to our head office at least once a week.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

As Head of Health, Safety & Risk, you will:
 
  • Lead Strategy: Develop and implement sector-leading health and safety and risk management strategies aligned with organisational goals.
  • Ensure Compliance: Provide assurance to the Executive Board on legal and regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management.
  • Champion Transformation: Drive continuous improvement, leveraging technology and data insights to enhance safety and performance.
  • Build Partnerships: Act as a brand ambassador, influencing best practice and building strong external relationships across the social care sector.
  • Empower People: Foster a culture of safety and learning, providing expert advice and leadership across the organisation.

Your values:

Our Ideal candidate:
 
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field.
  • NEBOSH Certificate or IOSH Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Significant senior leadership experience in health and safety, risk, and governance within a complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver strategies, manage large-scale change, and influence at Executive and Board level.
  • Expertise in compliance, regulatory frameworks, and business continuity planning.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
