Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

🧑 Female Advanced Support Worker – Kendal (29 Hours per Week)

We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled Advanced Support Worker to join our team in Kendal, supporting a lady in her home and community. She lives independently in a downstairs flat and requires 24-hour support to live a fulfilling and empowered life.

  • πŸ“ Communicates using pen & paper or a Lite Writer
  • 🎡 Loves music, YouTube (especially cat videos!), shopping, and coffee shops
  • 🚌 Enjoys exploring new places by bus or train
  • 🐱 Big fan of cats and a good giggle
  • 🏞️ Loves trips to the park (especially the swings!)
  • πŸ’Š Uses a PEG regime for medication (training provided)
  • β™Ώ Uses a wheelchair in the community

Key Traits Needed:
🧠 Patience, understanding, and the ability to support when fixated or frustrated

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • πŸŽ“ Hold a Level 3 qualification in Social Care (or have strong experience)
  • 🧩 Have experience with mental health, autism, sensory communication, and physical health needs
  • πŸ’ͺ Are passionate about helping people live independently
  • 🌟 Are a brilliant mentor and team player
  • πŸ—£οΈ Are confident using alternative communication methods

πŸ•’ Shift Pattern & Hours

  • πŸ“… 29 hours per week
  • πŸŒ‡ Shifts: 10:00am–10:00pm followed by a sleepover
  • πŸŒ… Morning shift: starts at 7:30am after sleepover

πŸ“š Training & Development

We’ll support your growth with specialist training in:

  • βœ… Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • βœ… Makaton
  • βœ… Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
  • βœ… PEG feeding
