This is a full time permanent role with some national travel required. If you live within an hour of our head office in Widnes you will be asked to join other members of the Clinical and Quality teams there to work once a week.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

This pivotal role sits at the heart of our mission to deliver excellent, personalised care that promotes independence and fulfilling lives. You will lead the strategic development of occupational therapy practice and champion our Learning Disability and Autism specialty, ensuring our clinical and therapeutic model remains agile, evidence-based, and responsive to the needs of the people we support.

Day to Day:

  • Shape Strategy: Drive the development of occupational therapy practice and lead service improvement initiatives across the organisation.
  • Enhance Quality: Integrate clinical effectiveness and audit into our Quality Management System, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Lead Innovation: Contribute to national networks, research, and policy development to advance best practice.
  • Support Frontline Services: Provide expert advice, clinical supervision, and leadership to colleagues managing complex cases.
  • Champion Co-Production: Ensure people with lived experience are central to service planning and delivery.
  • Develop Capability: Design and deliver training programmes that build competence and confidence across teams.

Your values:

Essential:

  • Registered Occupational Therapist (BSc/MSc) with HCPC registration.
  • Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) in Autism, Learning Disability, or Sensory Integration.
  • Substantial experience in clinical leadership and service development.
  • Expertise in therapeutic interventions relevant to Learning Disability and Autism.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement.
  • Proven ability to provide clinical supervision and training.

Desirable:

  • Social Care or Management qualification.
  • Experience influencing practice at a regional or national level.
