Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a caring, compassionate and experienced Service Leader (Level 3) to join our team in West Lothian.  You will lead and manage a team of 30 Support Workers working across two care homes and one supported living service to make a real difference to the lives of the ladies and gentlemen we currently support with learning disabilities, Autism, Downs Syndrome and Mental Health Concerns.

This post is a Registered Manager role and the successful applicant will be responsible for the daily management of these services and their staff teams.  They will be responsible for ensuring staff teams are suitably trained, well supported and supervised and have the tools to carry out their role to the best of their ability.  There will be requirement to support and mentor an assistant service leader.  The Service Leader will be supported by the Regional Manager for this area.

They will also be responsible and accountable for the 24-hour management of the services, ensuring that all aspects of support and service delivery are focused on meeting the needs and preferences of the people we support. This includes involvement in the creation and auditing of care and support plans, risk assessments, evacuation plans and other safe systems of work.

The successful candidate will have effective communication, leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.  They will be responsible for working with both internal and external partners including other healthcare professionals, local authority and family members. They will also be committed to person-centred planning, supporting positive risk taking and best practice for individual reviews. Flexibility will be essential.

The successful candidate will have a current SSSC or equivalent registration or the ability to be registered upon taking up the post. A relevant management, care or nursing related qualification is essential.

 A current driving license and use of own car is also essential for this role.

Community Integrated Care operates a centralised on-call system so there are no on-call duties required within this role.

This post is a permanent role for 37.5 hours per week working from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.  

Your values:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a motivated self-starter with supervisory or management experience in the Health and Social Care sector
  • Have, or be working towards, a SVQ 4 in Health and Social Care
  • Have a current SSSC registration
  • Hold a full UK driving license and have use of a car
  • Have a good understanding of relevant legislation i.e. GDPR, Health and Safety, Whistleblowing, Adult Support and Protection and apply this to practice
  • Be an excellent communicator who is able to manage and encourage the staff teams to improve their practice
  • Have experience of managing rotas
  • Be willing to undertake the role of Registered Manager with the Care Inspectorate for both services
